This policy explains what information Omnilex AG collects when you use Oakclause, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Questionnaire answers. While you work on a document, your answers are stored in your own browser. If you are signed in, we also save your answers to your account as you go, so you can continue on another device, and we keep the answers and the last PDF of documents you download so you can edit or download them again. When you preview a document while signed out, your answers are sent to our servers only to generate the PDF.
- Account and email. When you sign in we receive your email address. We use it to sign you in and to send emails that are part of the Service, such as receipts, reminders and guidance on finishing a document you bought. If you sign in with Google, Google also shares your name and profile picture with us; we use them only for your account and do not get access to your Google data beyond that.
- Contact and lead forms. If you contact us or request help, we receive the details you provide, such as your name, email, phone number, state and message.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the Service running.
We use product analytics to understand which pages and steps are useful and where the Service breaks. Answers you type, document contents and form entries are not sent to our analytics provider.
We use conversion measurement from Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Microsoft's Universal Event Tracking tag, which also covers ads on Bing) to learn whether our ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. When you arrive from a Google or Microsoft ad, we keep the ad click identifier in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days, and when you create an account or complete a purchase, Google and Microsoft receive that event, its amount and a hashed (scrambled) version of your email address so they can match the conversion to the ad click. We may also use visits to our site to show you Oakclause ads on Google and Microsoft services later (remarketing). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out: no ad cookies are set, no remarketing applies and your email is not shared with Google or Microsoft.
How we use information
- To generate and deliver your documents
- To respond to your messages and requests
- To send emails about your account, purchases and documents, and tips and offers if you opted in
- To secure, maintain and improve the Service
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Marketing emails
We send occasional tips and offers only if you opt in by ticking the box when you sign in or check out, after your first download, or in your account. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and you can switch them off in your account at any time. Unsubscribing does not stop emails that are part of the Service, such as receipts and reminders.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service (for example hosting and document rendering), under obligations to protect it, or when required by law. If you ask to be connected with an attorney, we share your request with that attorney only with your consent.
Your choices and rights
You can delete answers saved in your browser at any time from My documents or by clearing your browser data. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email support@oakclause.com.
Security
We use encryption in transit and limit access to personal information. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending sensitive details through contact forms.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We will update the date above when we change this policy and, for material changes, give notice on the site.
